16 Weeks & Dog Days of Denton

First, Kaiser weighed 50.0 Friday. Didn't have time to measure him! We went on our longest road trip yet....to Denton, TX, about a 5 hour drive (when you have to make pit stops). Kaiser did GREAT! He slept most of the trip, or had his head through the seats where the a/c vent could blow on his face.

We saw lots of dogs, kids, grown-ups and best of all, Anne and Zak and Leo and Kyrie!! Cody and his family were there too! And Kat came with Sadie. What a sweet little Pom! I wish now that I had brought Kody (my pom).

After the event on Friday, Greg and I were invited back to Anne and Zak's where we watched the dogs FINALLY get to play! No leashes to get tangled up in! Kaiser is used to playing with puppy-sized dogs so it took a while for him to get used to romping with the big dogs. Zak helped me get Kaiser into a pretty good stack for his first time! He's trying really hard to get the treat in Zak's hand because I hadn't fed him yet.

We all had an amazing time! This is definitely on our TO DO list for next year! Thank you and hugs galore to Anne and Zak for helping make this a great adventure! Sorry about the whiny teenagers I had to bring. Ugh, I wonder if there's a place to board kids around here!

Here's some pictures of the event!

15.5 Weeks Memorial Day with Shanny

Today my twin sis, Shannon, came over and we drove together to visit Mom's gravesite. She was really taken with Kaiser! Her two boys loved playing with Kaiser! She loves Kody a lot too. Here's a few pictures.

15 Weeks Old! Bath Time!

Aaaw, look at that pitiful face! He hated the dryer! I quit using it and let him air dry with my car windows down.

Kaiser went to the "Sloppy Dog Wash" in Tulsa and had a good bath in a large tub. He wasn't very happy, but suffered through it with dignity. At the vets office he weighed a whopping 42.3 pounds!
Kaiser really wanted the bone Kody was chewing on. See him try to sneak up on Kody? He's so silly!

Almost as big as Autumn!

Here's a great picture to show how much Kaiser has grown! Next to him is Autumn, our alpha lab/chow/? mix we adopted from certain death about 8 years ago. Yeah, we know she's overweight. She's lost weight since we put her on a diet about the same time Kaiser came to live with us. Autumn weighs 78 pounds now. At her heaviest she was 85 pounds! We got her on a great lower calorie food and she likes it. We have to be careful about activity because her left knee is very arthritic.

12 Wks Old Today! 32.3 lbs 17.5" Tall!

Kaiser went to visit the vets office today for his weekly weigh-in. It's great how the front desk people know him on sight and run over with doggy cookies! Kaiser loves the attention. He gets on the scale with just the words "climb up" and sometimes a leash tug.

I can't believe how big he's getting! He weighed 32.3 lbs and we measured him 17.5" at the shoulder while standing. What a big, happy boy he is! When the rain stopped I took some pictures outside with all the dogs. Here's some you might enjoy!

Kaiser the Great!

Here's Kaiser 3 days short of his 12 Wk. He weighed 30.8 lbs when he got his boosters at the vets.

Today Kaiser went in for boosters. We were waiting in the lobby where he was playing with a cute, bouncy little American Bulldog. I guess their play upset an older yellow lab across the lobby and the lab broke his sit and charged toward us, yanking the leash out of his owner's hand. The puppies were right at my feet and the Am Bulldog dived under my chair and Kaiser turned sideways in front of me, lowered his head and did what sounded like a growly moo. The lab stopped and the owner got his leash. It took me a second but I stepped between Kaiser and the lab, facing the lab. Kaiser laid down right away behind my legs. What an awesome pup I have! He reacted before I could blink!
